What’s your label say?

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

Ugly, worthless, stupid, freak...these are a few labels one young lady at Campus Life club said people have given her.

As our small groups discussed the topic of labels, I shared that I too have been given labels; some good and some not so good! Some labels I've given to myself to wear around and other labels others have given to me.

We all wear labels, whether we want to or not. Some labels might actually be true of ourselves, but most have been given to us because of the broken world we live in. I got the opportunity to share with these girls that human labels are meaningless. The only labels that truly matter and have any value are the ones God gives us. God doesn't make junk! Ps. 139:13-14 says: "For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. ... I have been remarkably and wonderfully made." Ephesians 2:10 says: "We are God's masterpiece." God's labels for us sound like this: masterpiece, remarkable, wonderful, his children, redeemed, friend, treasured, chosen, loved, forgiven.

Time spent with these precious students is possible because of you. You are part of this mission, going through each door with me and walking step-by-step as we share the love of Christ with teens. THANK YOU!
