What a gift it is to be part of that!

Some of our YFC staff and volunteers went on a missions trip to Mexicali this past month. Here's Lenore Berger's story on how God worked while they were there.
The theme verses of our trip were Isaiah 6:5-8 which say,"'Woe to me!' I cried. 'I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.' Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, 'See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.' Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" We all know these verses well, but how often do we ask, "Jesus, use me!" That was the theme of our trip to go along with those verses, and boy, did God work.
I believe the way God worked the most was through the willingness of the entire team to serve. This is an exhausting trip--we have VBS from 9am-12:30pm, eat, play with the children till about 4pm and then every night had either a church service or service project. We would get to bed around 12:30am and wake up at 6 every morning, ready for more action. Having 58 people on a team is awesome--and having them all unified in Christ was a huge prayer answered! With that being the case, seeing God change our students' lives through just a nine-day mission trip was amazing! Because we ask our students to be ready to spend themselves, they do that. We have three students wanting to do our three-month mission trip to Mexicali this winter! Such a blessing!
Another story of God's awesomeness would have to be the way in which we saw his hand work in our Mexican brothers and sisters. At the church I served in all week, I saw two young children give their lives to Christ and from the women's study, I saw all of those lovely women weep over how God was challenging them to be more like Jesus.
I know that God can do whatever he wants whenever he wants. What a GIFT it is to be part of that
