Project Serve in Haiti

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

Our Project Serve team will be in Haiti later this year. Last summer while serving in Haiti, they visited an orphanage. Jonicawas drawn to a small boy with the biggest brown eyes you have ever seen. As she began to play with him, sherealized he had ringworm. He wanted to be held, and of course, she gave in. It wasn’t long before a full tummy made his eyelids droop and he fell asleep in her arms. As she rocked him, wiping the sweat from his forehead, she wondered if this might be the only two hours of peace and security he had experienced that day. Had he ever had someone hold him while he slept? Had he ever been able to rest peacefully in the arms of someone who cares? The gift of peace and security was all she could offer him, but she gave it freely and without hesitation, the same way God gives us the gift of forgiveness and eternal life. We're praying many kids will experience God's peace and secure eternal life this year.

More kids like this can be impacted when we all play a part in reaching lost teens in Lincoln and around the world. You can choose to volunteer, give, or pray to support Youth for Christ's ministries in the Lincoln area and abroad. Project Serve, Campus Life, Parent Life, and Juvenile Justice are essential ministries to reach those needing God's security.
