Praying for EVERY tree

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

One thing that God showed me over our week in Haiit was to "Be still, and know that I am God."While there, we spent time with the Haitians by showing them love, washing their feet like Jesus did for his disciples, helping paint homes and plant trees, and the whole time, I was hearing God tell me to be still. In our American culture we are very busy and often look past the need for prayer and push God aside. In Haiti, we stopped to pray for each individual tree that we planted so that it will be fruitful for the family and community. God put our language barrier aside by allowing us to love on all of the kids and people in Haiti. The children were so welcoming and open to us coming, and the adults were excited to have us there to pray for them. Sharing the gospel with people that weren't yet believers and seeing them start to relate and ask more questions was an experience I won't forget. Being in Haiti really showed me that you can find hope in situations that would normally seem hopeless.
