Kenton Changed at Camp

During the spring of his freshman year, Kenton started coming to Campus Life club. At first, he was only there because of a cute girl. But, he found something in that community that he hadn’t experienced anywhere else. I started meeting with him and discovered that at an early age Kenton had fallen into a life of drugs, sex, and reckless living. This behavior covered up a load of insecurity and loneliness that Kenton was not prepared to carry. The summer after his freshman year, Kenton decided to go to YFCamp only two days before we left. At camp, Kenton experienced the love and grace of Christ in a way that changed his life. Kenton gave his life to Christ that week and returned home with a new purpose in life. A couple of months later Kenton was baptized and has become committed to serving Christ and leading others to Him. His journey has not been without struggles, but I see in Kenton a determination to never turn his back on the God that he has fallen in love with.
