Josh’s Story - Part 2

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

Tyler Carter, our Ministry Director, has walked through these doors for weeks now visiting Josh, the boy in JDC who was visibly hungry to know more about God. Tyler could sense God’s presence in the room that first day he met Josh and while there have been high points and low points in the weeks following, God's work in Josh is visible.

Low point: Josh got into a fight with another student. High point: As Tyler talked with Josh about it, Josh recognized the mistake he made, he knew what he should have done instead, and he had genuine remorse for what he had done. In that same conversation, Josh told Tyler he'd read James (as Tyler suggested) and also 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Revelations, and he was on to Job. Josh's hunger for God is real. The Spirit of God is using the Word of God to change Josh one step at a time.

Filled with 17 years of hard experiences and false belief systems, Josh is kid who's seen nothing but tragedy. He's never met his dad. His mom gave him up for adoption because she was addicted to drugs. Josh was in and out of foster homes until he was adopted.  Josh has deep wounds that need the healing grace of Jesus and that healing process takes time. It is a battle for Josh's soul, a battle for what he will believe to be true. Pray for Josh. Join us in helping Josh in this journey. This month is a great month to give because your gift will be matched through Give to Lincoln. Click here for the matching gift opportunity.
