Jacob Celebrates!

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today, in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”  -Lk 2:10-11

Nine months ago we re-met Jacob, a high school boy who years ago was involved in Campus Life and was now detained in the juvenile detention center. Not even two weeks later after he was released from the facility one of our staff, Nate, saw him in church where he committed his life to Christ!

Immediately, Nate grabbed Jacob and said, “You need to get with Jason, your old club leader.” Jason, Nate, and Jacob worked together to make a way for Jacob to attend YFCamp and get him connected back into Campus Life at Lincoln High.

We cannot claim any responsibility for Jacob’s transformation, but we can attest to the fact that in the past Christmas has been a celebration of reindeer and Saint Nick for Jacob, but this year, Jacob gets to celebrate the birth of his Savior!

Like those words from the gospel of Luke, Jacob has embraced the “good news of great joy that will be for all people” and is being changed from the inside out.

During this Christmas season YOU can make an impact on kids like Jacob through your support of Youth for Christ.  I’m excited to share that this month we have an incredible opportunity: a friend of YFC has offered a generous match of $.50 on the dollar up to $20,000 for every gift given by December 31st. That means your $100 gift is matched with $50 and becomes a $150 investment in kids like Jacob.

Would you consider a special gift to reach kids with the hope of Jesus this month?  Your gift of $50, $100, $500 or more will leave a legacy this Christmas.  May God bless you as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and His power at work changing young lives!
