Great things God has done! YFCamp: Susan

After only five hours of being at camp, Susan, one of our Lincoln students, asked to talk to Don.
Don Talley, the camp speaker, had welcomed the kids and done his first talk, an introduction to the focus of the week which was all about Jesus, throwing down our rocks (sin that we choose and carry), and forgiveness. Don mentioned his own struggle with forgiveness, and Susan had to share with him about her story and struggle.
“I don’t know how to forgive my mom,” she told Don. That was the first of many conversations. Over the course of the week, Susan and her Campus Life leaders, Beth TeKolste and Grace Bornschlegl, talked again and again about forgiveness and Jesus’ healing grace.
At the end of the week, Susan recommitted her life to Christ and chose to forgive her mom. She texted Beth these words: “At camp I left behind my inability to forgive. I can now say I’ve forgiven them but I wouldn’t have been able to without God’s guidance at camp. I never realized how much God loves me until I came to camp.”
