Charlie’s Story

Posted on by YFC Lincoln

Charlie, a young teen mom, had attempted to end her life. Carrying the burden of raising a child while in high school while being weighed down with the guilt of the pregnancy rising from rape became more than she thought she could handle.

Charlie’s story is not as unique as you may think. We recently shared three testimonies at gatherings and all three of those testimonies contained thoughts of or an actual suicide attempt.

Luckily Charlie’s story wasn’t done yet. As she checked out of a care unit she was referred to Parent Life, our program for pregnant and parenting teens.  There she found acceptance, encouragement, support and a God who gives strength through difficult circumstance.

You are a critical resource for teens. You make it possible for Youth for Christ to provide the support and care that Charlie and hundreds of teens need each week.

This month, after four years of involvement with Parent Life, Charlie is graduating – from college! She credits much of her success and ability to beat the odds with the care and support she receives from Parent Life and her newfound faith in God.

As we are in this joyous season of giving, I hope you will transform the lives of students, like Charlie, with a yearend donation.
